Dr. Karen Glanz Recognized as a Leading Female Scientist in Health Behavior

Dr. Karen Glanz, a George A. Weiss University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, has been recognized as one of the Top Female Scientists in the world for the third consecutive year. She was ranked 607 out of over 150,000 female scientists worldwide and awarded a 2024 Best Female Scientist Award in the United States. As a Professor of Epidemiology, Nursing and Health Policy, and Director of the Center for Health Behavior Research, much of her research focuses on how people's make and enact choices about their health-related behaviors. Her leadership includes being senior editor of the book Health Behavior: Theory, Research, and Practice, now in its 6th edition (Jossey-Bass/Wiley). Additionally, her involvement in national discussions on medications and obesity as a National Academy of Medicine member highlights her significant contributions to the field. Notably, Dr. Glanz is the only faculty member in her department to be included in the prestigious list of Top Female Scientists.
